Interpreting Statistics and Charts

http://fia.fs.fed.us/library/briefings-summaries-overviews/docs/ForestFactsMetric.pdf

The PDF I have found covers just about everything about forestry. Everything from the history of forestry to the present trends we are finding. With multiple charts, displaying what percent of forest types make up the U.S. and the patterns of logging since 1630, it illustrates and epitomizes the U.S. forest industry. I strongly recommend reading this, although it is 24 pages long; even skimming through a couple of them will enhance your knowledge of the United states' forests and what impacts we have made on them. I never realized how many organizations are working towards preventing the practice of illegal logging, the PDF discuss two major ones the USDA Forest Service and Forest Inventory and Analysis. The FIA has been collecting data about our forests for over 70 years and this data helps in the development and enforcement of policies for sustainable forestry. Seven reports based off FIA data have been filed since 1953. I liked the data displayed because it wasn't illustrated in an intricate fashion, it was simple which will allow for readers to comprehend the data and ultimately acquire a new found understanding of how humans impact our nation's forests.
